Client Problem
In an effort to Blueprint the future implementation of SAP’s IBP and PPDS modules, production leadership strove to redefine S&OP objectives, process, and organizational structures.
SCMC Solution
SCM connections met with global and regional leadership in supply planning to specifically detail:
A redefinition of the roles & responsibilities to organize for a global planning effort emerging from what was previously largely loosely-coordinated regional planning activities and organizations
A new process for product portfolio management and reporting in Pre-S&OP meeting execution
Refined global process reorganization and definition for demand and supply planning
Refined forecasting methods and planning-horizon definitions
Delineation and clarification between longer-term planning activities and those done for S&OE, planning-execution tasks.
A preliminary investigation into Production’s ability to covert from a largely make-to-stock, SKU-based planning organization to one oriented to planning a “chemistry-based” assemble-to-order plan with SKUs pulled-to-order.
Results
The process deliverable was used by the team to begin organization restructuring and communication design as the technical teams defined and configured IBP, then PPDS for global implementation and use.
