Client Problem
Client had problems consolidating their many streams of demand to create a single consensus demand plan while simultaneously keeping track of each disparate demand stream. Client had previously been using IBP for supply planning, but was finding it hard to create scenarios, simulations, etc. without having the demand piece in IBP. Additionally, the client had difficulty comparing the operational demand plan in units to revenue due to the complicated customer structure.
SCMC Solution
SCMC created of a multitude of attribute transformations and other highly complex configuration pieces in IBP to allow for a better flow of demand into the supply planning capabilities of IBP. PP/DS was also enabled for better planning within the 4 walls of the manufacturing plant(s).
Results
Developed a single source of plan for cross-departmental alignment and execution, especially with the demand and supply teams. Enabled the ability to analyze more scenarios and more plans compared to having each in their own system before. Promoted monetization of plan, which wasn’t possible before due to complex customer structure.
