Client Problem
Base Oil Division Distribution Planning process was manual and involved creating and maintaining multiple spreadsheets to develop a global distribution plan and projected inventory levels across refineries and distribution terminals. While Base Oil Division was already on IBP Demand Planning, they were not using a system to determine their supply and distribution plan.
SCMC Solution
SCMC recommended starting with the S&OP Module to familiarize the Base Oil Division with the S&OP Infinite Heuristic and its Distribution Planning Capabilities. This first phase would get the business and users familiar with IBP and reduce their manual efforts in Distribution and Supply Planning.
Results
Base Oil Division can now understand their distribution and supply requirements and can all view the same Supply data in IBP instead of sharing data manually and having to maintain manual spreadsheets. In addition, client IBP Demand Planning forecasts are now driving the S&OP Distribution Plan.
