Client Problem
Client needed a Demand Planning and S&OP solution that would facilitate independence from planning in spreadsheets, as well as align data cross-functionally. Additionally, they required a way to forecast at a more detailed level, accounting for historical and future promotions, to allow for better accuracy to send to the Supply planning team.
SCMC Solution
SCMC recommended implementing the SPARK solution for IBP Demand and S&OP modules which would allow for data integration from their S/4 Hana system to be used by their Demand Planners and Supply Planners to facilitate more streamlined and accurate planning. They would also be able to use the forecasting tools provided by the Demand Planning module to forecast at various levels to provide the Supply team with a stronger signal. This includes the use of a Gradient Boosting algorithm to enable future promotional planning activities.
Results
Client now has the means to manage an S&OP Process within one single tool, as well as the ability to forecast at more detailed levels accounting for historical and future promotions.
